The FAIR Center Multi-Day Workshops are patterned after the human genome jamborees, where researchers—who may not have typically worked together—gathered for multiple days to work face-to-face on a grand problem. The intensely focused session resulted in significant progress in the field.
Our multi-day workshops will advance individuals’ research on movement using AI and build a cadre of experts for rehabilitation research. Hosted at Stanford University with a high staff-to attendee ratio, each workshop will draw researchers from around the world to work together on their specific projects. Lectures, combined with time to apply newly acquired knowledge to participants’ individual research projects, make the workshops a unique and productive experience.
Upcoming Multi-Day Workshops
We are now accepting applications for a three-day, project-based OpenSim+ workshop on the Stanford University campus. This workshop will take place March 24-26, 2026 and is intended for researchers who are advanced users of our software tools, models, and datasets, including OpenSim, OpenSim Moco, OpenSense, OpenCap, and AddBiomechanics. Advanced users include those who are applying these tools to new use cases, movements, and populations, or developing new pipelines, models, or algorithms. Researchers will work with our staff to advance the goals of their specific research projects.
We highly encourage collaborators to participate in the workshop as a team. Travel awards will be granted to top workshop applicants (individuals or groups). The workshop is free, and supported by the FAIR Center, Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance, Restore Center, and Mobilize Center. Applications are due January 7, 2026.
